Jones Nicholson were responsible for the engineering design of the refurbishment of the historical Bank of Australiasia at 2 Martin Place, Sydney. It is classed as a rare example of an early Federation Free Classical style in NSW and AN area of historical, atheistic and technical/research significance. It was classified by the National Trust of Australia (NSW) in 1987, State Heritage Register, and of local heritage significance by City of Sydney.
Refurbishment included alterations and additions to the ground floor, basement, and sub-basement. The majority of work was located in the sub-basement which included the creation of store rooms, offices, buyer's rooms, merchandising areas, a vault and staff facilities. All works were required to protect the significance of the site.
Coordination of in-house consultancy services included: Structural, hydraulic, mechanical and electrical design and documentation.
