Weston’s Biscuit Factory Façade Remediation
13 Pyrmont Bridge Road, Camperdown – NSW
TYPE OF PROJECT:
Remedial & Structural Engineering
Owners Corporation of Strata Plan 78255
Originally a Weston’s biscuit factory, this iconic building was redeveloped into a residential complex in 2007. When the original masonry began to show signs of deterioration, Jones Nicholson was engaged for remedial and structural engineering.
The team conducted a detailed building condition assessment and investigation, which confirmed the building’s water filtration issues needed to be addressed.
We prepared a remedial specification for the façade, lintels and pool deck repairs.
In addition to conventional repair works, Jones Nicholson specified that a permeable, weather resistant membrane be applied to the façade brickwork. This membrane will repel rainwater while allowing trapped moisture to escape.
“All’s going well so far - the works are continuing and we’re currently supervising the remedial work. It’s a satisfying project.”
